About

About Me

I grew up in Benson, MN; a town of around 3,000 people in rural Western Minnesota. I graduated from the University of Minnesota in 2020 with a Doctor of Physical Therapy Degree. I originally graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Technology Management with an emphasis in Construction Management from St. Cloud State University in 2008 and Master’s degree in Construction Management from NDSU in 2009. I worked for two construction companies in that field for 5 years.

When I found Crossfit in 2012, I began working my way up to becoming a coach. Many people would come in with various issues such as a hurt shoulder, hip, knee, etc. Instead of simply helping people work around their issue, I chose to change careers, become a physical therapist, and help people reclaim their abilities to enjoy life while pursuing better health. I have always believed exercise and maintaining physical activity are a vital part of leading a healthly life and enjoy helping people on their way to starting or reclaiming their health.

I have competed in multiple functional fitness competitions (The Granite Games 2013, Rock Your Box Throwdown 2021, Battle For the Axe 2021, The Snow Bowl 2013, Coldwar Throwdown 2014, and the Crossfit Open 2013/2014/2019/2020/2021/2022/2023), ran many 5Ks, a 10 K, and 2 half marathons. I loved being a pitcher on my high school baseball team, and have always enjoyed other sports, including racquetball. I enjoy going for walks/hiking with my wife Jessie and dog Kit.  I also like to read, so feel free to let me know if you have any book recommendations!
